Every year in May, members from Departments all over the Elgin area come to remember and pay respects to fallen firefighters of the past year at the Elgin No. 5 Fire Barn. This year was the first year Pingree Grove & Countryside Honor Guard attended this event. This Year Pingree Grove & Countryside Honored Former Fire District Trustee Howard Hoffmeister.
