Happy EMS (Emergency Medical Service) Week.

The Pingree Grove & Countryside Fire District covers over 50 Square Miles including the Village of Pingree Grove, Part of the Villages of Campton Hills and Hampshire, Plato Township, Parts of Rutland, Campton and Elgin Townships. Last year we responded to Over 2300 Calls and 70% of them were medical.

There are 56 Personnel working for the Fire District, 26 are Paramedics and 30 are EMT's. Of the 30 EMT's 3 are finishing up Paramedic State Testing, 4 are finishing Paramedic School and going into their internship, and 7 are going to start Paramedic Class in August.

The District has 4 Ambulances, that are Front-Line ALS (Advanced Life Support) equipped. Three of our 4 Engines are also ALS Equipped. The 4th Engine, UTV, and Both Chief's Cars are Equipped with BLS (Basic Life Support) Equipment including AEDs.

Pingree Grove & Countryside Fire District is Part of the St Joe's Hospital EMS System. We transport patients to St Joe's, Sherman, Huntley and Delnor Hospitals.
