Vehicle Accident with Extrication

Last night at 12:47 am Pingree Grove & Countryside Responded to Route 47 and Roherson Rd for a vehicle that had hit a horse. On arrival companies found one vehicle with heavy damage, off the road, on an embankment with one occupant entrapped. Also found was a riderless dead horse on the roadway. A Medical Helicopter was dispatched to the scene, due to the patient's injuries. Personnel preformed a Difficult Extrication working over their heads with the vehicle on the edge of an embankment. The patient was transported by LifeNet Medical Helicopter to a Level One Trauma Center. The Scene was turned over to the Kane County Sheriff for investigation.
