Happy EMS (Emergency Medical Service) Week.

The Pingree Grove & Countryside Fire District, covers 55 square miles and responded to over 1600 calls last year, 70% of the calls were medical.

We have 50 personnel, 30 are Paramedics and 20 are EMT's. Of the 20 EMT's, 2 are finishing up Paramedic training and we have 4 more that are going to Paramedic training.

We have four ambulances. Three of the ambulances are front-line ALS (Advanced Life Support) equipped, with the fourth is set-up as a reserve vehicle. Two of our engines are also ALS equipped, and we are updating a third engine with ALS equipment in the near future. Our Squad, UTV, and both Chief's Cars are BLS (Basic Life Support) equipped.
