Burn Training

This weekend Fire Pingree Grove & Countryside personnel did live fire training at the Elgin Community College burn tower. Training consisted of fire attack in different scenarios, search operations and vent, enter isolate & search operations. Within these operations, firefighters also worked on different skills, radio communications, hose movement & management, ladders, ventilation, fire behavior, reading smoke, forcing entry, using tools and removing victims. All of this was under live heat and smoke conditions. In total, 63 firefighters took part in the training. Hampshire Fire participated along with eight of the Fire Academy recruits.
