Today the Pingree Grove and Countryside Fire District, the MABAS Division 2 Haz-Mat Team and the Village of Pingree Grove all participated in a Hazardous Materials drill. The drill was held at the water treatment plant in Pingree Grove. Simulated in the drill was a Chlorine leak with a worker overcome by Chlorine. The drill was a full practical exercise with personnel setting up different areas needed in a Haz-Mat incident (Command, Recon, Rescue, Haz-Mat Command, Science-information, Entry & Decontamination). The drill was a success and a learning experience for everyone involved.

Taking part in the drill was Bartlett, Carpentersville, Elgin, Hampshire, Hoffman Estates, Pingree Grove Countryside, Rutland Dundee, South Elgin, Streamwood Fire Departments and Pingree Grove Public Works.
