Yes, Earthquakes happen in Illinois. Earlier today there was a Reported 3.5 Magnitude Earthquake in Southeastern Illinois, near Ohlman in Montgomery County. It was a shallow Earthquake, shaking was reported in Springfield, Champaign, Decator and as far West as St Louis. The USGS has changed the Magnitude to 3.8. There are no early reports of Injuries or Damage.
