Early Monday morning April 5th, the Pingree Grove and Countryside Fire Protection District responded for a reported structure fire. On arrival companies found an outside fire. The fire was being fed from a NICOR Gas line that was hit by lighting. Pingree Grove personnel remained on the scene, to keep the fire from spreading, until NICOR could shut down the line that was feeding the fire.
