Early Thursday Morning at 3:19 am Pingree Grove & Countryside responded for a Camper Fire on the 41W300 block of McDonald Rd. On arrival Personnel found a fully involved 5th Wheel Camper and the Fire Extending into a Large Metal Barn. 1201 took Command and the call was elevated to a Structure Fire. Personnel pulled 3 attack lines, and a water shuttle operation was set up. 1213 & South Elgin Chief were assigned Operations, 1202 was assigned Water Supply, 1401 was Assigned Safety. Personnel also deployed a Ground Monitor. The Metal Barn, and its contents were a Total Loss along with the Camper. 55,750 Gallons of water were used. Personnel were on the scene for over 5 hours doing extended overhaul. There was 1 minor injury to a Firefighter. McDonald Rd was closed for appx 5 hours. The Fire is under Investigation.
