Early Monday morning the Pingree Grove and Countryside Fire Protection District responded to Genoa-Kingston for a structure fire. The fire was upgraded to a Third Alarm and was in a commercial building in downtown Genoa. Genoa-Kingston received assistance from Belvidere, Boone County, Cherry Valley, Courtland, DeKalb, Elgin, Hampshire, Huntley, Kirkland, Malta, Maple Park, Marengo, Pingree Grove and Rutland Dundee, and Sycamore Fire Departments.
