Structure Fire

Sunday Evening at 8:40 pm Pingree Grove & Countryside Responded to the block of 12N200 West View St for a reported structure fire. On arrival personnel found a fully involved shed fire with an attached chicken coop and electric pole on fire as well. 1201 took command and 1214 deployed the Skid Load and started extinguishment. 1213 & 1223 supplied water & personnel for extinguishment and overhaul. 1211 and Elgin Engine 3 also assisted with overhaul. 1401 was assigned operations and 1301 was assigned Safety. Com-Ed was dispatched to the scene. The fire was under control in less than 20 minutes. One firefighter had a minor injury and 9 to 10 Chickens perished. Personnel remained on the scene until Com-Ed shut off the power. Pingree units were on the scene for about 2.5 hours, and the fire is under Investigation.

While Pingree Grove units were at the Fire, the change of quarters units covering our stations (Huntley Engine & West Dundee Ambulance) responded to a medical call.
