| At 11:49 a.m. today, Pingree Grove & Countryside Fire Department responded to a shed fire at 43W354 Plato Road. Upon arrival, personnel found a 150-square-foot shed with visible smoke. Firefighters deployed a hose line to extinguish the fire, which required extensive overhaul. Approximately 3,000 gallons of water were used to fully extinguish the blaze. The Kane County Fire Investigation Task Force was called to the scene to determine the cause of the fire. The incident remains under investigation. No injuries were reported, and all cattle on the property remained unharmed. Plato Road was closed for about 1.5 hours while emergency operations were underway. Pingree Grove apparatus responding included Engine 1214, Engine 1213, Tender 1221, Ambulance 1253, Chief 1201, and Chief 1202. Assisting agencies included Big Rock Tender, Burlington Ambulance 1351, Burlington Chief 1301, Elburn Engine, Elburn Chief, Fox River Engine 1812, Hampshire Truck 1431, Hampshire Chief 1401, Hanover Park Township Emergency Services, Kane County Fire Investigation Task Force, Kane County Sheriffs, Kaneville Tender, and Maple Park Tender. Additional coverage for Pingree Grove fire stations was provided by Station 1 Geneva Ambulance, Station 3 West Dundee Ambulance, Station 4 East Dundee Ambulance, and Huntley Engine.
