Keep the Wreath Red

The Keep the Wreath Red campaign has used by Fire Departments and
Fire Districts for over 25 years to raise awareness of the increase of fires
during the Holiday season. Because of the uses of flammable decorations,
candles, and cooking of Holiday foods, there is an increasing number of
house fires within the U.S.

During the Holiday season, Fire Stations now display wreaths decorated
with Red lights only.

Every time a fire occurs within the community due to the holidays, a red bulb
is replaced with a white bulb to remind residents to practice Fire Safety during
not just the holidays, but at All times.

The Pingree Grove and Countryside Fire District has placed wreaths at all three
of our Fire Stations and lets Keep the Wreath Red.
